CrossFit Games 2021 have arrived and many CrossFit Games 2021 competitors are thrilled. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Keep reading to find the answer! Women are competing

The 2021 Crossfit Games women's competition opened this morning with a swim event. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.

The women's competition features top-level female athletes. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders of Australia, who was second in Australia and eleventh in the world in 2020, are also contenders. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. In addition to these athletes, the Women's competition will also feature a newcomer to the sport - Icelandan competitor Sara Sigmundsdottir, who won the first place medal in the World Crossfit Games earlier this year.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr won 30 of the Games' most events, setting a new record. Sager won Event 11 for men and earned his third win of the Games. There were many ties throughout the contest, but ToomeyOrr was the dominant force that won the contest.

10 tips for a healthy lifestyle

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. The competition was intense, and the athletes left feeling satisfied after completing their Pegboard.

System of cutting

The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. Because the competition is made up of 15 events, a cut to 30 athletes after the seventh or eighth event is very likely. CrossFit's decision on how to adjust the points distributed after cuts remains a question. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.

This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top thirty athletes then compete in a sprint team to determine the top 10. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. The shoe's upper is made from DuPont's Kevlar material, which promotes durability and breathability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

health and fitness program

CrossFit and Reebok's partnership will end in 2020. The Games have been sponsored by Reebok for over a decade, and it's now clear that the company's involvement will be decreasing. Reebok won’t pay for the Games’ prize, but they will continue to make all athletic apparel, equipment, and gear worn by athletes. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
